Recently, members of the SFF crew got together to start making Fortunate Ones, a collection of short films that have the same theme: When you get what you wish for it’s not always what you want. Every wish granted comes with a price as the characters in each movie learn, sometimes too late. Stay tuned for updates as they arrive!

In January 2001, Sine Fine Films partnered with SPC-TV and students at SIUC to complete the first production filmed outside Central Illinois. It was an exciting challenge, to find and work with new actors and film in new locations.

The Curse starred Liz Schafer as Zandra, an archeology student who gets cursed. Michelle Chapman played the feisty Cory DeVro, and Morgan Thomas (who was thrown into the part at the last minute) played the smart and cynical Maria Sanchez. There were regular appearances by Michael DiVecchio as Mordecai, Gillian King as the Madam Maggie, and episodic appearances by Neil Cappetta, Michael Meyer, and Brittany Ann Whalen.

Seven episodes, and a partial eighth, were completed on May 12, 2001, and although this series was short lived, due to my personal insanity, it left a legacy that spawned a prequel, a sequel, and a strange sort of spin-off. In 2011 we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of this unforgettable show. Thank you to everyone who was a part of it.

Ten years ago Sine Fine Films officially finished the longest, and one of the greatest, television shows in its history. Pandora’s Box is a project that continually grew in size and scope from its beginning as a small production to a large, ever growing epic of a dystopian future where the only thing worth fighting for was freedom. The series began in May of 1999 as a four episode experiment and ended up with twenty-four episodes completed in December of 2000, and was as much an adventure behind the scenes as it was on screen.

Check out the new wallpapers in the Pandora’s Box gallery.
